Exmor R BSI Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor

The a7R V boasts a state-of-the-art 61MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor with a back-illuminated design. It minimizes noise and produces images with stunning detail, while a copper wiring layer enhances data transmission speed. The camera’s native sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 (expandable to ISO 50-102400) ensures excellent performance in various lighting conditions.

The camera features an upgraded BIONZ XR processing engine, offering an impressive 8x increase in processing performance compared to previous models. This enhanced processing power results in faster overall performance, superior image quality with extended sensitivity and dynamic range, and seamless handling of AI tasks and intelligent autofocus. Furthermore, the processing system minimizes rolling shutter and motion distortions, resulting in smooth and clean rendering of moving subjects.

High-Performance 5-Axis Image Stabilization

The a7R V incorporates an updated 5-axis image stabilization system, providing up to 8 stops of compensation for camera shake. This system combines a high-performance gyro sensor with an optimized algorithm, enabling precise shake control and improved communication between the camera body and lens. The camera also features an Active IS mode for video recording, which employs advanced stabilization methods for even smoother footage.
