This second-generation FJ400 offers significant upgrades, ensuring both speed and reliability with recycle times as fast as 0.01-0.9 seconds.
The FJ400 II boasts design improvements including a 30W bi-color LED modeling light and a full-color OLED touchscreen for intuitive and straightforward onboard control. Beyond these enhancements, it features advanced settings like a Freeze mode for incredibly fast flash durations and a Creative Mask feature for enhanced efficiency. Users will also benefit from flexible AC/DC power options with the included interchangeable FJ Pro battery, which provides up to 550 full-power flashes per charge. Weighing just 5.3 lb, the FJ400 II is a compact, lightweight, and rapid strobe lighting solution, offering superb portability for any shoot.

The FJ400 II’s broad 9-stop power range (1.56 – 400Ws), adjustable in 0.1 and 1.0 increments, makes it highly adaptable to various lighting scenarios. Its flash head boasts a 1/24,000 peak action-stopping flash duration in Freeze mode, is capable of 50 fps (camera and power dependent), and supports High-Speed Sync (HSS) up to 1/8000 second, along with front and rear curtain sync. The FJ400 II runs on a powerful, removable 29.6V, 2500mAh AC/DC lithium-ion battery, providing 550 full-power flashes and thousands of low-power flashes on a 1.5-hour charge. The included FJ Pro battery features LED status indicators to keep you informed of remaining power. For even higher capacity, the separately available FJ ProMax battery delivers up to 1000 flashes at full power. The FJ400 II’s shared battery compatibility with the FJ800 unit eliminates the need for multiple power solutions, while convenient AC trickle-charge functionality ensures uninterrupted performance during extended sessions.
Thoughtful Design & Accessories
An upgraded 30W bi-color LED modeling light, adjustable from 2700 to 6500K, is integrated for easy framing and composition. This monolight features a Bowens S front mount for wide modifier compatibility, a 5/8″ tilting bracket for mounting on light stands, and a 9mm umbrella receptacle. A USB-C port is present for firmware updates.
The FJ400 II ships with essential accessories, including a magnetic 5.5″ reflector with a gel set (CTO, 1/2-CTO, window green, and diffusion).
